Makes Me Appreciate Having A TL

I've got a buddy who has a Hyundai Tiburon (pretty fast car) with a CAI and we installed his new exhaust system today.. after cruising around in it for the night, It made me appreciate my TL even more. I might like fast cars, but I definitely prefer luxury over loud.

What can I say, I'm 18, and I've always wanted to have a loud sounding fast car.. But after being in that car for just the night and the headache it has given me, it's made me want to fix my tl up rather than save for a "ricer" car. Just my though. Hopefully by the end of the summer I can afford a new paint job

Uh, Tiburons are slow as f*ck. Even ones modded like your friend's.

~Cheers~

P.S. Honda > Hyundai any day of the week.

Hence I said pretty fast car.. Him and I both know his car can't out run a lot of cars (He gets smoked a lot) But considering us koreans don't really have any other sports cars out there. I'm going to say its pretty fast.

Plus I drive both Hondas. Civic and TL ftw.

Haha, I've never encountered a fast Tiburon on the streets. As far as Korea, you guys have a Honda clone, the 2000-up Daewoo Arcadia, which is a KA7~ Honda Legend (not to be confused with the ~KA7 Honda Legend), just re-badged.

~Cheers~

tiburons are nothing special as far as luxury goes but hey, what do you expect for less than $20k?

tiburons aren't fast but they're not very slow either. they're engines are also known for being very restrictive from the factory so simple mods can yeild a significant gain. they run 15.6 from the factory and with I/H/E, 14 seconds is easily obtainable. a first gen TL hitting low 15's, mid to high 14's, with just I/H/E? not a chance.

Tiburon 15.6 > 3.2TL 16.3, 2.5TL 17.20

that being said, i would have liked a tiburon when i was younger for the "cool", sporty, kind of car but the quality can't touch my TL. the TL is great but it's a little too luxury for me, which is why my next car will be a blend of sport and luxury; a 3 series.

It's been done:
TLxRacer, 2000, Pomona, 14.8, 25K on the clock, intake/exhaust.
Me, 2006, Sacramento, 15.5, 235K on the clock, BHG, intake/exhaust.

No such things as headers for us then, and barely even now. All I'm saying is, I have yet to encounter a fast one on the street that isn't riced out. I've raced BPU Tiburons giving them a jump and I still walk them. Maybe it was the bodykit weighing him down... .

~Cheers~

hmmm...i thought i remembered a thread of tlx hitting the 14's except he was using the bottle. i was speaking strictly n/a for the tiburons. meh, i'm too tired from work to look for it now anyways.

i honestly really dont care much for tiburons. they could run 12's and i still wouldn't get one.

.........alright, maybe if they ran 12's.

^ Haha, for real. It would be a definite contender if it ran 12's stock, haha!

there was a old thread with a black tl with black rims, i think air susp, and he had a custom turbo charger i believe. That would be one possible route if you want fast, haha.
