i know theres been alot of threads on this but i still havent found what i am looking for. i want to buy new bulbs for my 98 tl. I want to go the cheap route and buy some on ebay. Can some one tell me which ones fit, like the H4 or H3 or whatever for the headlights, and i also want blue lights where i put my clear turn signals, so i need to know what fits there too. Also if any of you have had these cheap ebay lights you should let me know if you recommend or not, thanks.

and if you're going to cheap out on lights from ebay, why dont you just save yourself the time and go buy lights from autozone? (ex. sylvania cool blue)

 

Blue turns are illegal!!! 60$ fine + repair order in MD and yes cops are very petty!!! They look cool but its hard to match headlight bulbs to them. I went with LEDs!!!

 

saw some hyper whites for 8.50 with shipping on ebay i bought them for a neighbor and they were better than sylvania and cool blue

 

Yea... blue turns are illegal but if Carter 31 uses super white bulbs he should be okay.

 

Headlights are H3. I bought a set of headlight bulbs from a Chinese performance store in Cali last September and they are identical in color to the ones u see in the new Benz models.

 

no. they're H4. fog lights are H3C but can be converted to H3.

the new benz models use a very high end HID bulb, not a look-alike from a Chinese store in Cali. people never understand that it's not the bulb that makes lights on BMWs, Mercedes, Acuras, etc. look blue/purple, it's the projector. no knock-off halogen bulb will ever replicate the look of a true HID/projector.

 

Lol most superwhite bulbs are blue.... I have a hookup at advanced so I yanked my side marker and lower side marker because nothing matches up well with them. I have orange led's in my front turns and silverstars in my headlights and fogs. I uncondemed the fogs and the light output is much better.. I may go HID when money permits but right now.. I just can't afford it.. Any blue lights will definatly make you a target for police.. With the dark tints I have plus I'm young and black...They try and search me all the time, I politley say no if I don't have the time but sometimes its unavoidable..... Remember...Over and ounce and its a FELONY!!! :-P

 

I think its a no-brainer that Benz, BMW use the high end stuff. . We're not debating the bulb performance here. The poster asked for a cheaper alternative to the high end stuff didn't he? Last time I checked that was the case. And yea, the bulbs i bought from the performance store in Cali are not the high end stuff but they DO infact come very, very close to the ones I've seen in the Benz. I even tested them to differentiate how much of a difference there was and believe me they r damn near close

 

Take a look at them closely and you will see a difference. They're not the same. One is whiter than the other.

For tha record, I'm also young and black and I'm feelin u on everything u said which is why my TL isn't tinted. For me, I personally don't want unnecessary attention associated with dark tinted vehicles but to each his own.

 

Have you guys ever gotten pulled over for DWB? I think it's hella funny when that happens because I get pulled over for something similar all the time.

LOL YES I Have!! Its a small night club down the street from my house. Sometimes if I drove past I would get stoped for no reason. They would check my creds, look in my car to see who was in there and let me go... The club has since shut down tho so no more worries about that.

 

Or they try to trick you asking, "Does the owner of the vehicle know that you are driving it?"

"No... Wait, I'm the owner of the vehicle!"
