Lexus Gauge Cluster

Anyone know what light bulb Lexus uses for their gauge clusters? I like the brightness.

They're LEDs. If you know what you're doing, you can mod our gauges to be like them.

could u possibly elaborate on this? It would be a REAL classy real cool mod.

Apart from switching out to brighter LED's wouldn't u have to tint the instrument panel cover, and install a black light or something inside, so that the gauges AND the needle (which currently doesn't light up in our cars) glow. Oh, and u'd have to wire it so that the instrument cluster lit up everytime we started the car instead of just at night when we turn on the lights.

Any info on this mod would be appreciated.

I think you're in the minority on that one.

I must also agree... for mentioned reasons as well as... especially still looking young, no matter how well I may drive (Only law I break while driving being the speed limit), I've found the more light you can give an officer to see who's driving, the more likely you are to be pulled over. I know they say they don't do it but...

You're telling me that if a cop sees a TL driving by, any year, heck, any car at all, and they see what looks like a 12 year old driving, Johnny 5, or a middle aged orangutan, that they're not more likely to get pulled over?

Yea ok

I'm not sure exactly what model of lexus has the bright white light inside, but my guess is the LS430? Also the needle on the lexus gauge is clear instead of white like ours.

Btw, which LED size would fit? and possibly where can I get them? www.superbrightleds.com?

Also one thing that I noticed, the cluster from this picture is much darker than ours. I would prefer just the numbers and the needle to light up instead of the whole gauges. This of course would be a compromise to those who don't like getting blasted with all the lights.

Those Legends in the link have gauges that look amazing! Much better than the LED gauges on my 05 Accord.

My dad's ES has the gauges he is talking about. They are a nice, solid white. Like a flourescent bulb white. Not a hint of blue, like in LEDs. It looks very nice, especially with the red needles. Everything is very crisp, sharp, and deliberate. There is nothing that is "kinda" lit up.

It looks VERY VERY good.
