Leaking Trunk

What the hell!!! How in the hell does all that water get into the trunk? I was cleaning out my trunk yesterday and it felt a little damp so I lift up the mat to where the spare is, and there is like a frigging pool of water. How the hell does it leak in there? Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it?

Taillight gasket? Will it be loose or does it have something to do with the sealing or something?

its that rubber thing that fits between the body and the tail light when you tightenthe tail it should stop but your tail light might not be tight enough

you can try tightening them, they are 8 mm nuts

I have the exact same problem. I was hit in the bumper almost 2 years ago as I was backing out of a parking space (some crazy driver was speeding around the corner and hit me as I was backing out --- but it was declared to be my fault since I was reversing at the time....). I am not sure if the problem stems from the impact to my bumper or not because it didn't start leaking unil a few months ago. One thing I did notice after the impact was a great deal of condensation on the inside of my taillight on the side of the car that I determined the water is leaking in through.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a puddle in my car --- I had a small swimming pool. It must have been sitting in there for a while because my spare tire was completely rusted out and there was a lovely layer of mold forming over everything.

Anyhow -- taillight gasket may be the problem?? I will have to check that out. Thanks....

yeah check out ur taillight gasket... my friend had that same problem on his maxima... the shop didn't seal his taillight gasket correctly and he had a pool in there... but he has a drain.. not sure if the tl's got a drain but u should drain that out and dry it.. especially if u have electronics, and a sub or amp in the back.. i found that it fried out alot of stuff.. after u seal it my friend also put some padding/insullation around (dynamat stuff) and it helped...
