I read a post regarding a recommended wheel and tire size (from the tire rack) that could still rub. The package was 17 X 7.5 Mille Miglia Spyders with 215/50 - 17 tires.
I would like to know what is the largest size I can have (with people in the back) without rubbing. 17 (or 18).

1996 Acura 3.2 TL (Dark Green)

A good explanation of offset, and what makes (or why)tires rub would help as well.If pics of your ride avaialbe please post, or point me towards your site.

Thanks to all-

u can do 18'' u just need a +48offset if u can get a +50 it would be perfect. i have 19x8 wheels with a +48 and they rubb. it just bairly hits the side of my tire. so wit 18'' u will b ok. inside ur rear fender u have a blk rubber or plastic trim along the fender , my friend said it i took it off i mght not rubb anymore. i never have 4 peps in my car so i dnt care. go 4 it man, get some 19'' im the only 1st gen on 19-z. a pix of my car is here somewhere ima try to find it.

you do not need a +48 offset in 18s to keep from rubbing. i have 18x7.5s with a +42 and i have no rubbing at all!! i think it all depends on your rim and tire because there are others with a higher offset than that that rubs, so good luck man.

So it looks like I need a +42 offset or better, for a 17 or 18 inch rim. Is that about right?

***If anyone can post thier 1st GEN set up, with 17 or 18 inch rims, no rubbing, with people, and possibly no lowering kit, that would be great, and very helpful.***

I'm back after a long time away. It's been nearly a year. I am back in the market for rims.

My question remains. 17 inch wheels, no rub. What is the best set up? Thanx. Please note, I will not be dropping it at this time.

I was considering 17X7.5 wheels, with 225/45/17's.

Chime in...

Hey thanks for speaking up for me. But I've had the wheels for a little over a year now. But like I told yall before I look at the car everyday, and I know that no matter how much you do to it someone with more $$$$ will already of had it done. Im sure everyone will agree, with this for a hobby.
