Hello guys , I want to install a muffler to my 3.2 tl but I want something not too loud /with some noise but not enough to wake up the neighbors(does anybody have ever hear the sound of a bmw M3) something like that but I get off to work at 4:30 in the morning so i worry about the noise being too loud .
if anybody can help I'd apreciate thanks

 

well thats gonna be hard... BMW have a special sound with mufflers... i don't know why but whatever exhaust u put on a bimmer it gets the nice deep but low rumble... as for our cars... it sounds like **** compared to the bimmers... just don't get cheap on the muffler and u shouldn't be disappointed...

 

I SPENT $300 FOR MY MUFFLER, I HAVE NEVER HEARD A BIMMER BUT MINE IS PRETTY DEEP SOUNDING! IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE LOOK AT THE PICS OF MY CAR, IF YOU LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS I CAN SEND YOU MORE INFO ABOUT IT.

 

I have a magnaflow DTM style muffler and it is deep and is not that loud. it cuts off at about 3,5 or 4,0 rpm.

 

there is a muffler...or was it the whole cat back exhaust? anyway...theres one available from japan. i think it costs like 400 bucks.. the guy selling it is in japan right now though so you'd have to wait for him to get back. he's the guy we TL folks turn to for JDM parts. he's probably over there right now looking for new sh*t for us 1st gen's!

 

yes they make an Axel back exhaust for our car and it is around 500 for the thing from japan not shipped thow

I've heard that someone makes a muffler that has a valve built in it so that when you are driving normally, it is quite quiet, but when you accelerate, the valve opens up and reduces back pressure so that the car has more power.

Does anyone have any info on this?

pm a guy named "valueTL" and tell him you have a 1st gen. (he's in japan right now so dont expect him to reply back anytime soon though) it'll fit on both 2.5 and 3.2. but yeah...its 5 bills excluding shipping and handling. its axle back

i also forgot to mention that the brand is called fujitsubo and i would expect it to be loud. anything that adds hp will cause your car to be loud. hey, id go for it! you'd be the 1st UA2/UA3 in the US to have it on (that i know of)
