Exclamation I have decided upon lowering the TL

So I have a 98 3.2... I have searched around a bit and found a few springs for the 3.2 on Ebay...

My main question is, what would be the diff between coil overs versus lowering springs... What would be the optimum drop if I'm putting on 17" wheels... Will I need adjustable balljoints/camber kit/replace the struts?

Also, are there any recommended brands, or any to stay away from. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks

I only bought springs, I put in 1.7"drop with my 18's, and it rode perfect. I had that setup for a couple years, no camber kit, and no coilovers. I used Goldline springs, rode very nicely!

I asked the same question in a previous thread and no one had an answer as to why they wouldn't use dropzone. The only way we would know how good/bad they are is if someone tries them.

I know they give a drop of 2.5F and 2.25R....too aggressive for my 3.2. I'm going with either Ground Control coilovers or Suspension Techniques.

well I hate seeing fender gaps . It drives me insane, makes some cars look 10times higher than they should be. I always go aggressive. my other acura has been lowered 2"F and 2"R and although I have a hard time going over speed bumps, the aggressive look and the handling more than makes up for it.

more than one person had them installed on their ride, and said they rode like shiet! Honestly, thats all I remember, is that one of the members was complaining about the horrible ride quality.

Mike's always goin on about how good his Goldline spring's were. Anyone else have those on their first gen?

Is there anything out there for first gen's, 3.2's in particular, that will make it ride BETTER than stock?

I've used Intrax springs b4 and I found them to be rather bouncy and the ride was very stiff. IMO, they are okay springs, but I wouldn't buy them again. I had nothing but problems when I used them. I also didn't like the handling on the Intrax. Good luck with the springs. I don't think you will need to get a camber kit or a new set of shocks, since your drop will only be 1.5".

I am going for the more aggressive look so I will drop my 3.2 no less than 2"

I will order my kit early next week. I am going with Suspension Techniques. Those springs are very, very good and the handling is exceptional.

I like the slammed look so.....there are no speed bumps in Japan.I guess the roads are better here than in the States. So slamming the car isnt a problem. The only problem is we have to raise the car back up for the inspection.
I like the bouncy ride...gives it the racy feeling.I dont like stock ride. Wierd? Oh well, thats me.
So I have 2 choices.DropZone or the RS-R coils. The problems is the RS-R hac close to stock ride so more chance of bottoming out if I hit a rough road or a drop in the roud.In Japan, when they do repaving on the road, they remove the top layer, and leave it like that for a few days. So there is about a 6 inch drop in the road(they just slap some temporary tar on the edges). If we are speeding and "Hit the Pit",we bottom out, scrape our bottoms. I've seen a few cars who f#@ked up theyre front end and its our fault for speeding.Bastards.

Well if you do decide to use tha dropzone springs, let us know. I was also considering it but imma go with ST instead. BTW, I've heard alot of good things about the Dropzone coilovers, but I couldn't find an application for our cars(3.2).

can't wait for some feedback when you cop those dropzones. I don't think they're as bad as some people think, but i can't blame anyone for thinking dropzone's are inferior due to the cheap price.

There's also an application for the 3.2 as well. I looked into it. They cost around $380.00 for the set.

IMO, Eibach's are GARBAGE!!. They are so overrated. Neuspeed and H&R kits are far better than that crap. Too bad I didn't see an application for first gen TL's.

I was actually referring to the Eibach kits. I had no idea they made the Ground Control coilovers. I honestly cannot speak for GC as I never used them b4, but my friend had them in his 94 Acura Vigor and I really love the slammed look and the way the GC handled.
