My new vehicle

Hey guys. I've gotten a new car. A truck actually. Picture below:

It's a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. It has the access cab. Pretty sweet, with the suicide door thing. It's 4x2. Gigantic 4.0 liter V6. Torquey. I really wanted the PreRunner model with the jacked up suspension and pretty body moulding but it was $$$. They say I can jack it up later with the springs and the body stuff and it would be cheaper.

I got the truck because I needed the ground clearance and towing capacity. I was getting tired of asking friends to help me out all the time. Besides, this is Texas and everybody needs a truck.

I still have the TL. I honestly like driving sedans more anyway and it will be a few more years before I get something else to replace it. I'm not going anywhere just yet.

Congrats man, Texans have to have trucks, that was one of the first things my friend did when he moved down there, bought a truck. Cool that you have the TL still too.

Yeah. I have always driven sedans or coupes. This is my first truck. And I've lived in Texas my whole life.

The TL will fit me for now but its getting up on the miles. Sad to say it but it will probably be replaced by a Lexus or BMW. MAYBE Infiniti (a big maybe). Right now, nothing in Acura's lineup appeals to me. But who knows. Maybe they'll release something I like in 2-3 years.

It's not that Acura's are bad cars (except for the RWD) but I really need the perceived luxury you get with the other brands when I meet with clients and whatnot.

How many miles do you have on it now? Using it for commuting or something now?

Gotta do what you gotta do for clients, what business are you in?

I have 108,000. I got it from my dad when it had 65,000 or so.

I used to be an indie movie/music video producer. One of my short movies got some distribution so I have imdb credits: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2115042/

Nowadays, I don't have time for that anymore so I'm a freelance cinematographer and photographer. Most of my time is taken up with law school.

Why are you getting rid of it? Or wanting to at least.

For one, I didn't get the extended cab. I got the bottom of the line tacoma - 4 cylinder, no power windows, no nothing. It is just too light for me. I dont have traction at times and it skids in the rain. Even though it is a 4 banger, the liter is bigger than my TL and it drinks gas like water! Other than that, its my favorite car to cruise in with my music blasting. I want a tundra, titan, f150, chevrolet ss now but they are also gas guzzlers

One more thing, the newer 06 tacoma is so much bigger than my 01. Even comparing the bottom of the line model of the 2 years. I like how the 06 looks though. Ive seen a few, what looks like rednecks rollin in a tundra ahaha
