I been thinking about doing a 5 speed swap but, what i want to know is exactly how much trouble am i gonna be geeting myself into? How compatible is the 5 speed vigor to swap out in the 2.5 TL? What all is actually being swapped out?i really love my car and the fact that i got a 5cyl. engine i think really kicks ass. But i got some perfoprmance mods on tha way i think that I really need that 5 speed. Any help from tha first gen Tl guru's would kick ass.

 

What mods you get for the 2.5. im savin up for a modded ECU and rims.

 

The 5 speed tranny would work. Its the same engine in both.

You'd need to get the Vigor ECU, wiring harness, clutch, pedals, custom center console for the shifter.

 

i got a motorsports company that a buddy of mine owns and they are gonna make me a custom catback and a custon CAI, and im looking to find someone to do a custom set of headers. And i was gonna get my ECU re=-tunned but if im gonna have to get a new ECU for tha Vigor than ill just have that one re-tuned. The center console is no problem cuz i can do my own fiberglass work. Does anyone know of anybody that has done this before?

I'd ask anyone who has done a tranny swap before in a TL/CL/Accord/Legend etc. I've somewhat looked into it myself in my 3.2 TL.

 

There is a guy who swapped a 6 in the old legend. you can look him up on the legend forums. He did a real good job too.

 

DV8 is his name. He took the 3.5 block from the RL, put the Type II heads AND a 6 speed manual

 

After I get another daily driver ima consider this swap.
