My maintenance light changed yellow. Is my car alrite to drive? Can I drive a 60mile drive and not have it break-down. I never had this happen before and I couldnt find any info in the owner's manual. Is this a serious problem or just take care if when you can. Which will be Tuesday.
maint light....
your maintenance light is just an indicator for regular service. It can easily be reset by inserting your key into the console back to green again. It turns yellow every 3-4000 miles letting you know an oil change is due and a check up on all your fluids.
You will be alright, your car will not catch on fire.

Thanks for the info its getting serviced friday. I think I messed up the alignment by going up a curb. I never had the indicator thing change color for the 3 years I had the car. So I was surprised to see that happen.

The inidcator found in old Honda's is not smart. It's just a mileage thing. It doesn't know if you've got serviced, that's why you are required to reset it with the key. It should change first to yellow, then to red when an OIL CHANGE is due. It is only good for oil changes, just like the Maintenance Req'd light in the new Honda cars. It will change color on a mileage-basis, regularly, unless it is broken.
Some of you guy's have to make things much more complex than they really are.

P.S. Never in any of my Hondas did it turn red every 3000 miles.

BTW - when I made a comment about the complexity of things, what I really meant was that people jump in and guess at it, going as far as thinking that maybe the indicator knows the oil has been changed - as if it has an oil life monitor.
