Help I need keyless remote for 96 2.5TL

Ok guys, I'm just tired of locking and unlocking my car doors! The previous owner I think lost the remote, I've seen a couple being sold on Ebay. I wanted to know if these remotes would work on my car

Thanks

Not just any remote. I'd check with Acura first.

The keyless entry on a 2.5TL was a dealer installed option or accessory.....it was standard on the 3.2TL. They can be special ordered with the serial number that's located either on the security ECM or another remote. These cannot be programmed for different vehicles, so don't buy them on eBay.

is there a way to find out if it has it or not? i just got regular keys when i got mine, but that might be cheaper than having it put in there. i got a quote from a good place in town for $300 installed for remote start and keyless entry.

For the price, in my opinion, you're better off getting a nice aftermarket system.

I guess I'll have to go with an after market remote. Any recommendations for a keyless remote entry for my 96 2.5TL? I only need the remote entry, I'm not interested in the keyless start

Yep, I'm official now

If you have the keyless setup installed now, even getting a replacement ECU and matched remotes can be done. They are available at a cost of 188.50.

The 96-98 3.2TL used the same factory remote, but they weren't available on the 2.5TL until 98.

I found the replacement remotes here for the factory system:
