Do you have an H4 style HID bulb? If not and you're trying to modify a D2 bulb, the straight peice of metal that runs alongside the bulb has to be on top.

I had that setup also. I can get those kits for $250 with 2 ballasts, 2 ignitors, and 2 bulbs. Anyway, heres a tip. Get a H4 bulb, take off the metal plate that sits against the headlight housing. If you look behind the bulb you see 3 small weld points holding it on. Once you get that off, slide it over the HID bulb, put it side by side with a regular H4 bulb and align with the capsule with the H4 filament. Get some plumbers epoxy and put some behind the H4 plate. Dont put too much because then the bulb wont lock into the headlight right.

If you look behind an H4 bulb you'll see 3 weld points. Cut those out and remove the plate. then follow my directions above. Thats the cleanest and best way to do this. I taught a few people in my neighborhood and now they're all doing it. lol. Probably stealing kits also.

I dont have the factory fogs anymore, I replaced them with Hella projectors. (Mercedes SL class) If you look in my sig pic closely you'll see them. They're on in that pic but its daytime.

I get them for $250 but they're D2R bulbs. I dont think those will work with your fogs.

Which hella HID kit do you have? One of my friends is supposed to talk to his Hella sponsor sometime this month. He might be able to hook me up.

I’m pretty sure they’re off a MB SL500. They are bi-xenon BTW. I didnt hook that feature up because then every time I would flash the hi-beam HIDs the low-beam HIDs would flicker. The projectors fit almost perfectly. Its not direct replacement though. I had to modify the back part of the headlight. I enlarged the hole and drilled 3 holes through it to hold the projectors in place.
