I just got my starter and front rotors replaced today.

I tried to tackle the job myself. I wanted to remove the intake manifold to get to the starter, but backed out after half way into the job. It was not too difficult but there are many small pieces involved. It would be helpful if I had another set of hands.

I called around few places including dealership. Prices ranged from $490.00 to $600.00. The dealer wanted $590.00 + taxes.
One local shop wanted $125.00 labor and I would supply the starter. I bought the starter from Autozone, they assured me that it was the right one for TL 2.5.
I left the car with the shop this morning. Later the mechanic called me and told me that it was not the right starter. I was already at work so I told him to the buy the starter from this sources.

I had him change the front rotors and pads as well.

The bill was $650.00 for everything. I think it was quite reasonable. The car ride much better with new rotors, no more vibration at the steering wheel. Let's see how long this starter lasts.

No clue, looks just like the OEM. The shop got it for me.

That is very reasonable. I paid around $650 just to have the starter replaced. This was around the Boston area. I had recently moved here and I would ideally have liked to order the starter myself (from Delray Acura), but did not have the time. So, I had the mechanic buy the starter for me.

Andrew how hard of a job was it to replace your rotors? What did you need to remove them?

^ well i was talking about the starter. but i did replace my rotors. you can do the back 2 in about 30 minutes.

for the fronts its easier to remove the whole control arm, and take them to a shop, have the rotors pressed off, press new ones on. its a decent job but makes a huge difference.

nice, i got mine for around $200 shipped including ceramic pads. just remember, there isnt anyway around needing a press to do the fronts.

oh yeah you need the OEM tool to compress the rear calipers though.. they are a bitch
