Good Mileage with the TL

Spent the last couple of weeks on the road with the tl, ran from Wyoming to the inlaws in NoDak, then on to Minnesota to visit other family. Old girl made 29 mpg over the whole trip. '97 3.2 TL bone stock.

Ran premium gas the whole way, and didn't waste time driving (80+ on interstates and 75 on the two lane). Will have a story about an idiot with a Grand Am to post later in Racing.

These cars may be getting older, but they are still great cars.

My record is 30 mpg. These cars will get great mileage if driven and maintained properly

man you guys suck. i've never gotten better than 24. i've tried driving as slow as possible, using cruise, and accelerating slow with slow braking and i STILL have crappy mileage. i've even driven an entire highway trip without stopping once, on one tank of gas, with the cruise set at around 75 and i ended up getting about 24.5 mpg.

<-Avg. 19MPG on Premium, mixed driving, but mainly highway. Wish I could get some better mileage... But, whatever, it's not that bad...

~Cheers~

I really think that where you buy gas makes a huge impact on mileage. Drove to Rock Springs , then back over the weekend (meeting old friends from Oregon on their way home from New Mexico- and the mileage wasn't crap on the way back after going for Loaf and Jug gas, which was 91 octane. Maybe the other thread talking about lower octane at higher altitudes has something to it.

I love my 1G. I really don't care what mileage it gets, but performance vs. mileage is something that is important to me. The time it took me from Rock Springs back to the Wind River Basin was only 2h 29 minutes....

On another note, pulling into our street I saw a 1G sitting along a curb with out of state license plates. It was the green and looked really nice....
