Has anyone tried to put the gutter guard in their front bumper?? I'm working on mine, I'll post pics when complete. WISH ME LUCK!!

 

i attempted at meshing the front bumper, but it got too complicated with my PIAA driving lights. I couldn't get the mesh to line up correctly with the lights so i gave up on that attempt. good luck with it though. and watch out for those sharp corners.

i have guttter guard grill and air dam; look really nice. all you have to do is slip a piece of gutter guard behind the air dam from below. there is no need to take out the bumper, it would help tremendously if you take out the plastic piece behind the grill. i dont have a picture yet.

 

Do you have a 2.5 or a 3.2?

I looked at my bumper's air dam... and it's one piece with the the bumper.

Can you be more specific?

 

i have a 3.2 tl. on the 3.2, it's a piece of black plastic between grill and radiator secured by a few plastic fasteners.
here is what you need to do
1. buy an aluminum gutter guard. i bought mine at Lowe's. it's called Premium Hinged Gutter Guard by Gutter world. 1.59 each.
2. do not cut anything; its perfectly sized already.
3. take out the plastic fasteners and two metal screws that hold the plastic underbody lining that's secured to the bottom of bumper.
4. slip the gutter guard behind the air dam from below.
5. secure the mesh with a few screws or wires, be creative with fasteners! this is where removal of the black plastic thing is important; you need to get behind the mesh from above to fasten it.

 

I'll try to look at my bumper again this weekend and also try to apply your direction to see if it'll work. The difference is that I have a 2.5 not a 3.2. As far as i know, the 2.5 has a different bumper w/ the 3.2.

i say either let the shop do it. it's a pretty tough job i would imagine especially if you have aftermarket driving lights in the air dam like me. that really screw things up.

 

last weekend i took off the front grill thing (the part that holds the emblem) not really hard at all.

1 open hood
2 remove the 3 or four screws that secure the plastic to the metal framework. (be careful, one or two of the screws is actually below the top of the plastic. use a flashlight. the screws are in plain sight.
3 there are 4 plastic fasteners that hold the entire assembly together be careful, they are brittle.

i hope this helps i wasn't really paying attention when i did this.

maybe next weekend i will disassemble it again. if i do i will post more through instructions.

jeez...why didn't i think of meshing the grill when i had it all apart?

 

Thanks for the information - Most of us in here have already done with the front grill (the part that holds the emblem). We're trying to put the same grill for the bumper air dam (the part below the grill with emblem.
