Error P0141, I need Oxygen sensor

I need to replace the secondary oxygen sensor and I was wondering if it’s ok to go with aftermarket sensor than one from the dealer.
There’s huge difference in price.
I am getting code P0141, which is O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2).

Replaced the secondary 02 sensor yesterday with an after market one by Walker and everything looks and works good.

It's not that hard to remove the 02 sensor, you just need right tools.
I did not take any picture, I should have though.

Were you able to buy a plug and use unit or splice the wires?

For other members- also try Bosch for O2 sensors

I bought the one that was a direct fit.
It was from oxygensensors.com. Cost was $129.00. Regular 02 socket does not fit because of tight area. I used a 7/8 wrench with long handle and was able to turn it after one six pack (lol).
Getting to 02 sensor after the cat was easy but you have to remove the heatshield and that was little time time consuming, but no big deal.

I used a Bosch universal fit at the local autoparts place for $68, it came with a block and scotchlock connectors to easily splice on the old plug. Be sure to have an oxygen sensor socket too, it's a deep socket with the side cut out for the wires.

Where would one buy such a socket?

You can get them at autozone or any nearby shop. They're about $10-13. Just replaced mine a few months ago and is was a snap. You might need to wd-40 the sensor to help in removal.

Good luck

you can also use the socket from the bad sensor that you are taking out.
