engine swap.

this is thinking very long term, and i know nothing about how to go about swapping engines.

if i were to find a newer 3.2 v6 engine and replace my 2.5 inline5, would that work since the engines are two different styles and balances?

and if so how expensive would it be not counting getting the engine

i want a newer engine though, besides chances are i won't be buying this engine, just paying for installation after cleaning and whatever else needs to be done to balance the car and make amends for the weight

Honestly, it's too big of a project. Everything has to be relocated. Plus it's not just the motor you have to replace, but the transmission also. Then comes the challenge of making sure they both fit right. Labor alone would probably cost more than $4k.

You're really better off finding a 3.2TL and having the motor rebuilt if need be.

engine bay size between 2.5 TL and 3.2 is also different, being the 3.2 has the obviously larger engine bay.

I know. I wouldn't mind having the 3.0 V6 from my wife's honda accord. That's a pretty punchy engine, but alas, it too is impossible.

if i remember correctly, he swapped in the heads to the type-ii motor. The 3.2 TL and the Legend share the same block, but not the same head.

Same block, same head on *most* of the Legends. The '94-'95 Legend GS sedans and '93-'95 Legend coupes that the Type II with 30 more horses.

~Cheers~
