Question Engine / Motor Mounts Need Replacing $$$

So my car is vibrating very badly when braked at a red light or just idling. It has been diagnosed that all 5 mounts are bad. The place I take my car usually qouted me $1200 for all 5 and labor. Does this sound high? Or is that pretty standard stuff? And also, Is it better to buy parts online and take them in or just pay in full for everything? Let me know, I'm sure you all could definitly shed some light on the subject for me. Thanks. -Nick

i usually buy the parts online from Tim at hondacuraworld.com... he is really cheap with free shipping and only a $3.95 handling charge... then i take it to a place to do the labor... my mechanic only charges me $45.00 an hour so it is really reasonable...

I assume you have a 3.2TL. You can check the prices of the mounts in this diagram.
You can add all the mounts to the shopping cart and see the shipping cost on the check out page. Do the math and you'll have your answer.

I actually have a 2.5TL, not the V6. Thanks for the references and websites.

make sure that the solenoid that conrols the front mounts doesn't have the hoses crossed.
its located near to the throttle plate.
top hose goes to the mounts, and bottom to the engine.

First, why would they be crossed? Second, Is that a common problem and what is the effect when wrongly crossed? Thanks UCLA.

you are gettin taken dude..

id assume its just the trans mount or the one on the front crossmember..

1200 jibbs.. you could put a 3.5 rl motor in it with new mounts for that yourself.

I agree with Colt. Nick, get a second or third opinion before you go all out and change all your mounts.
