Emissions thing cover the cat?

So, I 've had a weird noise coming from outside the cabin for a little while, on and off. I brought it to a shop today and they poked around, gave it a drive, and they said that their best bet is that the cat is starting to fall apart inside.

Does Acura cover it if that is in fact the problem, like with the free tune up/exhaust manifold?

The cat is definitely an emission item. Take it in and see.

Sorry, but the manifold was already done about a year ago.

I'm not completely sure it's the cat right now, I brought it to Tire Pro (right down the road from First Acura) and they couldn't give me a definately answer.

I have this metal/metal noise on acceleration from a stop or a roll, it sounds a bit like a grinding, but doesn't happen all the time. It seems to be coming from the front right only.

The tech there said it was probably the cat, but he wasn't completely sure since he couldn't get it to happen up on the lift and check it there.

You guys think it is the cat too?

He said the heat shields seemed to be tight/snug not rattle-able.
