Drain plug repair
Drain plug repair
To make a long story short. The time I went to Acura dealer to get my free O2 sensor check and free tune up, the Ahole mechanic stripped the threads on my oil pan. Its been too long to complain but trust me I have other ways of getten even. Def not going to change the whole pan. Thanks to google I found this site http://www.cgenterprises.com/drain_plug_definitions.htm
Does anyone know which 1 fits a 3.2 TL or any other ideas of a cheap fix.

wat i would recommend you doing is finding a reputable shop... (not a 10 min quick lube joint)... bring your car there and ask them to tap the oil pan for the next size up drain bolt that is available...
if you are willing to come to NJ, i know a good shop that does all my work... he is 5 mins from Newark Airport in Elizabeth... any work outside of warranty, i only trust him with my cars...

Thanks for the reply Kam
How much do you think it would be to re thread the oil pan?
Your mechanic is actually very close to me, I'm only 5min from The Holland tunnel on the N.Y.C side. Please give me their info thanks.

I had the same thing happen to one of our Accords. Dealer employ idiot tech, as well.
I did have them replace the oil pan, since I was able to prove that they did it. Otherwise, it was going to cost a freaking fortune.
Kam's advice is the best, but there is also the helicoil patch out there. I know people that have used this on aircraft, so it must be pretty reliable.

I've used the heliacoil on one of my fleet vehicles and I can vouch for them. I had a spark plug thread stripped out by one of the fleet mechanics and we used a heliacoil to fix it. It worked out great and stayed strong for over 200K miles.
