My driver door, door lock button will not lock the driver door unless the door is closed and you press it. Also, I can't press the silver/red door latch because it is halfway jammed. Only if I hit lock switch with door closed does it unjam and door locks. I had never noticed because my remote just died and had always used that to engage lock with door closed.

anyone had this prob? What can I get a decent alarm with auto start for?

 

The door lock doesn't lock when open by design. This is so you theoritically can't lock your keys in your car. NOW...having said that, if you hold out the drivers door handle (the inside one) while hitting the power lock button, the door will lock. (It becomes a routine once you get used to it). You should be able to pick up a decent alarm for around a couple hundred bucks down there. I got mine for under $200, CodeAlarm with EVERYTHING.

 

I think it is supposed to do that.

 

yep, all honda's have that "safty" feature.it works until you get into the habbit of holding the door handle open and sliding ur index finger to push the power lock

 

Exactly....became force of habit for me in my Integra once the battery died in my alarm and I didn't get a replacement for a week. Had gotten so in the habit of it even after I replaced the battery, I still always locked it that way...then had to arm it anyways...
