Need help with stereo install

My stock radio is really on the brink. I want to throw in my Pioneer from my delsol so the cd player would work when I need it too. I read how to take the stock radio out but I need more help. Can I put the Pioneer in without changing the wires? I went to Circuit City and was told ALL THE WIRING would have to be changed out to put new speakers or deck in. PLEASE HELP!!

To take out the stock radio, its quite simple. Just remove the fake wood trim, starting on the very far right. Use a thing flat piece of metal to pry it off. The fake wood is attached to the dash with clips, so be careful.

Once that is off, the rest will be obvious.

Oh and you can put an aftermarket unit without changing wires. You will lose the tweeters and midrange speakers though. However, the 4 remaining speakers are more than enough (for me at least).

Your dash tweeters should still work as well, since they're hooked up with the front speakers.

Correct, only the dome light tweeters will not work. You can make them work very easily though. Not sure if you want to. They are hooked up to the deck through the blue harness. My dash tweeters work fine but since I replaced my front speakers, the tweeters are not as audible as they used to be.

I know that even Walmart up here in Canada carries the wiring harnesses. Check down there. Or at worst, go to a local GOOD stereo shop, they should have them for you.

the problem with the ones from walmart are they offer the universal one with the HA-08, HA-02 thats great and all but when you install lots of headunits you start to learn theres not a lot of space back there...the less stuff you have the better...it'll still do the trick but it would be neater if you get the car specific harness. but these are just my thoughts so do as you please...

True enough LDH, I was just suggesting that as that's the easiest place to get them if you don't know what a good local shop would be.

Thanks for the replies guys. I went to circuit city to get the pioneer deck keys, pulled it out of my delsol, and installed in the car last night. It was easy hookup with just a lil sanding the face plate to fit properly. It sounds just fine w/o dome tweets. This summer I will pull whole thing to load the whole car with new equipment. thanks again
