Door Lock Actuator vs. Control Module vs. BOTH

97 3.2 - horrible HONKing from the driver door actuator, intermittently and terrible - driving with the door panel off ATM, unplugged it, seriously nice. Unlocking manually sucks though. and the factory alarm going off is embarassing. Gonna look at the plastic / rubber fix I've seen on here if i can't replace it quickly.

Still hearing the other doors randomly unlocking though - so is my control module cooked too? And is that even what it's called?

try the rubber fix first, it should fix everything. I was rolling around with no power door locks at all for like a year.... it was pretty embarrassing unlocking every single door when you had people riding with you.

rubber stop

When my rear door lock actuator started making that horrible noise, the rubber stop had just fallen out which stops that moon shaped gear from going too far (skipping, noise.) I'f you still have that little rubber piece, you can just hot-glue it back into its position. Took me 5 minutes to do and I have not had a problem in 6 months.
