Dont Use Zmax

I PUT THIS PRODUCT IN MY CAR AFTER MY MAJOR SERVICE TO SEE IF I CAN GET MORE POWER IN THE ENGINE, TODAY I FOUND OUT THAT MY NEW NGK IRIDIUMS OVERSPARKED, MY FUEL INJECTORS NEEDED TO BE CLEANED OUT, OPEN UP THE PISTONS TO REMOVE THE ZMAX, AND CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS IN MY CAR. ZMAX IS GREAT FOR OLDER CARS BUT NOT FOR OUR TL EVEN IN YOU HAVE ALOT OF MILES

IT COST ME $270, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME TO COME BACK IN A MONTH TO SEE HOW THE ENGINES RUNNING. THING THAT SUCKS IS THAT I HAVE TO USE 87 OCTANE, MY CAR'S SLOW, IT EATS GAS, AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF MY CAR STINKS. THE CHEMICALS THEY PUT STANK MY CAR, IT SMELLS LIKE GAS INSIDE

Ouch. I thought about putting the ZMax stuff in my car too when I first saw the commercial. Fortunately, when I asked around about it, one of my friends pointed me to this link:

http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/02/zmax1.htm

Apparently, a formal complaint has been filed against ZMax for making false claims on their product.

Lates,
Slagboy.

Wow, they talk about Slick50 in there even, I always thought of them as legit!! Never believed in Dura Lube or ZMax though, and with good reason apparently!!

They might throw something at you about how it says in the owners manual to NOT use any additives whatsoever though. Aren't you supposed to use Premium unleaded only?

I know nothing about Zmax, but I have used Slick50 oil additive before, and I know it worked keeping the engine temp lower. The fuel economy increase was small, but it was factual.

Just food for thought.

is too bad what happen to you.
I use zmax like 3 years ago when I had a millenia s
and it didn't cause any problems it didn't seem to make any improve either. but that was the last time I pour stuff like that on my car.
is been 3 years already that I have my acura and I don't think we even need to use additives.
just my 2 cents

i'd seriously talk to zmax and tell them to pay for it. if there is no warning on the bottle to not use it on certain cars then have them pay for it.

I'm not sure about that. They are under some type of federal order to stop claiming things about the product that have not been proven to be true from independent labs. Many people think it is like snake oil for your car.

why do you have to only run regular gas? 87 octane?
when usualy 91+
whats causing that?
how could it fu ck it up?
what is the problem? do you know what exact prob?

-----------------------------------------------------------

i refuse to run anything other than whats designated for it. i always stood by that. these additives always scared me.

you could probably get all your repairs paid for through the lawsuit but thats about it. and your probably gonna have to fork out the cash now because the lawsuit will probably take forever.
-this is my opinion-

that is just one s hitty situation
