Angry check engine light came on...

so this morning i get in my car, start it, and start backing out of my drive way. when i was in reverse, it started vibrating. i was like wtf? so i thought it might have been because it was kinda chilly, so i started going up my street. i only went about a block, but it did it the whole way. when i stopped to turn around, i noticed that the check engine light was on. it was kinda wierd, because the vibrations stopped when i got up around 30mph. then i turned around and went home to tell my mom she had to give me a ride.

when i got home, i drove it for a few blocks to see if it would do it again. the vibrations stopped, but my check engine light is still on. i looked in the manual and it says "This indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch on. if it comes on at any other time, it indicates that one of the engine's emmisions control systems may have a problem." i know this stuff is under recall, but what could be causing the problem? i talked to my friend who is pretty good with cars and i think it might be mis-firing. would this be covered under the recall?

anyways, im gonna talk to my dad about it tonight when he gets home from his trip, and see what he thinks. oh, just fyi, im not gonna drive it like this. thanks in advance for any info.

oh and btw, if you guys have any links about the emissions recall, could you please post them so i can show them to my dad and the dealer(if i take it there)?
