changed spark plugs, air filter and pvc valve. car started and ran fine. after a few miles the check engine light came on. any suggestions as to what's going on?

 

My 97 3.2tl s check engine light came on like that when I ran out of gas and ran the injectors dry. It stayed on for like 2 months. I was just too lazy to pull battry wire and reset.

 

Could be 25 diff things. You'll need to take it into a shop if it continues, and have them run a test.

 

It could just be your O2 sensor. That seems to be a common occurance on some TLs.

 

try just reseting itby unhooking the battery it could just be something stupid if that doesnt work do what mike says and take it into a shop

 

Take it to any autozone store, they will test it out for free. They have an OBD(on-board diagnostic) scanner. They will give you a printout of the trouble codes. The OBD plug is located under the ashtray(change tray).
