Angry Check engine light...

Anyone has issues with the check engine light?

I already replaced the EGR valve and EGR controller and the light is back on.

who told you to replace those ?
you have to take your car to the dealer and they will tell you wich one is the bad sensor
it happen to me last year and it was two sensors
the abs sensor and the transmission sensor
they were covered by the warranty but there was no way for me to knew that if it wasn't for them

The Main Req is a service reminder. To reset, Hold down the "select" and "reset buttons" for the trip odometer and turn the key to position II. Hold the buttons for ten seconds and it will go off. The manual explains further.

I checked the ECU codes and they pointed to EGR Valve and/or EGR controller. I did not gp to the dealer 'cause the closest one in over an hour away... :o

Well, I guess I'll try and get there sometime.

Just a suggestion. Check your gas cap. Make sure it's screwed on tight. Sometimes if you don't screw them back on tightly, it'll throw a check engine light. I've run across that a few times in different cars.

That same thing happened to me. I never knew that a loose gas cap causes the check engine light to go off. When I filled up with gas, the light mysteriously went off. Then I knew to ALWAYS screw the cap on to the 3 clicks!

Oh Dude, if a check engine code says X sensor kicked off the Check Engine Light ... it does always mean to Replace That Sensor.

That info is used to trouble shot the issue.

i.e. if the After Cats O2 Sensor kicked on the Check Engine Light then the step isn't to replace that sensor but to figure out why that sensor went off... could be the Cats were not burning the exhaust fast enough and let harmfull exhaust pass by which caused the after cats o2 sensor to go off. Or bad gas.

I've had the EGR something (can't remember off hand) go off on me, the dealer reset the Check Engine light.
I replaced Foul Plugs and used injection cleaner and the light never came back (knock on wood)

Also the Check Engine light doesn't go Off Instantly... unless you reset the light. Need a OBD-II reader to reset that light.
or eventually some faults will go away. If your check engine light went OFF then came back ON then it's something else that's triggering the fault.

Whats the status of that light yornoc ?
