audio question

I wanted to post this here since I think its only a 1st gen problem. I want to know if anybody has overcame the trunk rattling issue. I guess this question is for people with subwoofers in their car. I have 2 12s and have dynamat'ed my car and it still rattles, WHAT GIVES?! Years ago on this site, someone said it is the latch that hooks into the metal bar when you close the trunk..it locks in place so your trunk don't open back up. What can I do about this?

My bro has a 01 CL and has some subs in his car and it don't rattle.. Before i bought these subs, my trunk only rattles when the subs are on but now that i bought these subs, my trunk rattles even if i dont turn on the music. I think I loosened up something back there! it rattles when i go over the most slightest bumps and over those road reflectors that divide the lanes.

dynamat won't get rid of rattles. It only keeps out road noise.

my recommendation is to pull the whole trunk apart and tighten EVERY screw you see. Also, if you see 2 peices of metal that MIGHT rub against each other or rattle, throw some expanding foam on them or something to stop them from rattling.

is your car jack secure? Take that out and see what happens. That was my problem awhile ago.

he's asking if your car jack( the scissor jack in the trunk) is secured. Check if all those accesories and stuff are fastened down so they dont move around.

*edit* don't forget to check things like the harness on the tail light and the tail light assembly itself and maybe that value wing you got.

I was thinking the value wing b/c that shit aint bolted on. I didn't want to drill no holes into my drunk. Its held on by 2 clips on each end and 3M double sided tape in the center. I put a sponge behind my license plate too. Im also thinking its those little thingy that holds the plate in place (that comes up from the bottom)

lol nah man, its not as easy to rip off as you think. its just like pulling off an emblem - you can't just pull it off. and my wing is long so its definately not an easy task to yank off. plus i have 2 clamps on each end so its nearly impossible to jack the wing without destroying it.

lol...if someone tries to steal it those clamps may make it hard but if they really want it they'll do everything to get it. Then if it gets destoyed who will cry more you or the thief?
