Well i decided to give my friend a boost after that my car dies, i try to boost it and it works the first time, all of a sudden my abs light is on and the car keeps turn the radio on and off when i use my lights, i turn her off and try her again shes dead again. i try to boost her waiting for over 2 hours to let the battery charge, but nothing. i finally called a tow truck and brought her to my shop.
my guy said it the alternator, oh well that's what i get with 100,000miles on the odo. oh well just venting,
by the way how much does one cost usually...?

 

Tell the mechanic to check all the fuses. That happened to me once when I was installing a new headunit (newbie days). The cluster lit up like a christmas tree and the alternator wasn't charging.

Did you call the mechanic? Its worth a shot before you drop a couple of hundred on a new alt. I know mechanics well and I bet they'll say it can't be the fuse. They need to make that extra $$$ and replacing a fuse doesn't pay as well as replacing an alternator.

 

yea he checked the fuse it was blown as well. i guess the boost really robbed my power. wasnt to bad took 1 day for the part from dealer and picked up it today... drives great got a new battery too. now the car starts with no problems.

 

i saw ur old car last night on 53rd next to kings plaza recondnized it from the tails and side marker, saw u also put the stock wing, it still looks nice.

 

Really? My mom did go to Kings Plaza last night so it was definitely my car. Was it in motion or parked? It still does look nice except its got mysterious dings, chips and scratches all over it now! What a shame. I kept that car mint for the 3 years I had it. Oh well. It still runs good though.

I've been having problems with starting my car recently. A few weeks ago it wouldn't start and I had to jump it. I bought a battery and it was working fine until today. It just wouldn't start. No clicking, no cranking, nothing. The radio and interior lights work fine. I think it's the alternator, am I right?

 

Does it ever die out on you while driving? Do your headlights get brighter when you give gas?
