hey one of my air vent broke right side... what can i do to fix it

 

i broke mines too when i took out my dash. i broke off the whole vent flap thingy!! they're attatched to the whole piece that goes around your gauge. the price to replace that whole thing is expensive. try going to your local dealership and just ask them for the price of that whole piece. i know a guy who sells acura parts and told me he'd sell it to me for $184.53 (thats the price shipped to your door.....shipping and handling is included). just go to your dealership and see how much they'll charge you. if its more then order from this guy...if not, go ahead and get it at the dealership.

ok that didnt work out too well.. call toll free 1-888-RAY-LAKS and ask for TIM. he gave it to me for 184.. thats really cheap compared to what my dealership charge me

so i stoped by the acura service shop in brooklyn, they want $85 for the part and $40 for service and installation...

 

mang hoe lup!!.....85 bucks?!?! damnnnnnnn thats cheap!! wait, are we talking about the same parts here? so your dealership is charging 85 bucks for the WHOLE piece that goes over your gauges and the ac vents??

 

nah i wish only the small piece vent on the right side not the one connected to the other vents where the gauges are

 

well, i dont know how your going to replace the vent b/c its connected to the whole thing. i broke mines off (the one closest to the drivers window) and now i have to change out the WHOLE piece.. damn, me and my stupid, "do it yourself so you can save money" attitude

 

I almost broke my vents when I swapped out my gauges for the Indiglo ones. I didn't know that they were so damn flimsy when I took the dash apart. You just have to be EXTRA careful when you take it out. As for getting a replacement part, try Tim here at this site, or check out http://www.ahmotor.com .
