I went to eat with my girlsfriend tonight and when I went back to my car the rear passenger window was broken. I have tint so the glass was pretty much together and was on the floor. They didnt take my headrests. First I thought my radio and flip out monitor were gone but they were there. I think my mind was making me see things because I was nervous. When I parked I noticed an old riced up Maxima with chrome wheels double parked full of kids and they were staring at me and I was staring back. Maybe they did it because of that. They could have broken my windshield or keyed up my car though. Why would they break the side window? Well, they didnt take anything so I guess I'm lucky in a way. Anyone know a good auto glass shop in NYC? I live in Brooklyn but I'll go to Queens or Staten Island. I'm not going through insurance for a window and the dealer is gonna charge me alot. If anyone knows a shop please let me know.

Damn that sucks man. I've had my window on my honda shattered 5 times, 4 of them were attempts to break in.

sorry to hear that man, be glad they didn't take anything and it's only a window. and a cheap window at that too. it cost 1g to replace my rear windshield.

What is up with that? Retaliation for just looking at them? Glad to hear that nothing was stolen, esp. since you have a lot of expensive stuff in your TL.

Still a pain in the rear to have to fix the window and get it tinted.

Sorry to hear about that I know what that feels like. Cause on my Accord I used to have someone broke three (3) of my windows and I had to have them replaced, luckly someone who lived in the house across the street from where the car was parked heard the glass breaking so he came out with a baseball bat and chased them away cause they were getting into my car with a dent puller and just stole what was in my trunk which was a bowlball bag. How getto, their gonna wear my used shoes.

Anyway I went up to Liberty Avenue and the VanWyck Expressway and they guys there installed 3 used windows for $120 and then I just shelled out 30 bucks for tint film and tinted the windows myself. Nowadays i dont have the paitence to tint anymore, I used to on all my friends cars, now I am just lazy. :p

Tell me about it. I'm thinking thats the only reason because they didnt steal anything and theres alot of stuff to take. I'm lucky in a way. It should be fixed within the next few hours though. I'll get it tinted Saturday. I hope all 20% tint is the same color.

Also I have to say our cars really suck sometimes. They dont even make aftermarket glass for it. Dealer part only. Unbelievable. I'm getting the glass and labor for $180. Then the tint should be like $25. Not too bad.

hehe. No doubt. Me and my boy went looking for them. I was freezing my ass off with no window. I just gave up and went home. Dont worry, I wont forget that car......

This question is kind of related, just me thinking aloud. Some little douchebag tossed a pebble at my windsheild from an overpass and cracked it in front of the passenger side seat. Our windsheilds say 'Honda glass' on them. Anyone think a Honda dealer or Honda specialized shop charge less than the Acura dealer? Northeast Acura says the windsheild alone is $700. I'm not sure about going aftermarket, I havent done any glass research and I dont want a cob job. let me hear your two cents fellas

I dont see any difference in glass regardless if its Honda or aftermarket except for price and the little Honda label. The aftermarket glass may be a little thinner. My side window seems to be the same as the other though. If I was you I would stay away from the dealer and try to get aftermarket. It will probably cost you 1/2 as much. Just be sure its a good shop that installs it correctly so it doesnt leak water in the rain. Shop around and get some prices. If the dealer is only a little more than go to them. Alot of shops will tell you there is no aftermarket glass, thats what they told me but I found someone who had it. Keep looking.

daaamn that's hella steep for the front windshield. i got my front windshield replaced after some frat guys messed it up for $150.

See what I mean? He paid $150 compared to $700. The factory glass doesnt do anything special so theres no reason to waste your money. I know it sucks not to have Honda windows, but its not worth it.
