Unhappy ABS light

My ABS light is on, but sometimes it will not come on. It just started happening the other day. Tell me the ABS isn't going out!!!! And tell me it isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg!!!!

If I have the problem, I think I will get drunk and drive full speed in the middle of a parking lot and then stand on the brakes. Then I can see if ABS still works.

Why do it drunk? Hell why not?

your abs is gone.

do you here a noise when you start the car? that noise is the abs motor.

now, if your lucky, its just a blown fuse. if not, get ready to spend a couple thousand, i think.

my car has the same problem. abs light has been on for the last couple of months. i took it in and the dealer said i need a whole new abs system.

i think this is a problem that a lot of first gen tl onwers have, but im not entirely sure.

OUR ABS SHOULD BE RECALLED

Thumbs down ****TY

What fuse is it that I can check? I don't really hear a noise when it starts up..... and the light goes out for a split second after starting it and then comes back on. I might get access to some professional troublshooting software and I am hoping to find some help there. Anybody else have this problem or had their ABS checked out?

That happens to me all the time. It only happens to me when I stand on the gas, and then have to stand on the brakes because of traffic over and over. I turn the car off and back on and it goes away. Could be major, but I wouldn't trust a dealership to check it, they benefit from that kind of major work.

when my abs kicks in (ie, I'm sliding), I hear a mechanical sound by my glovebox. Anybody else?
