17 or 18 inch wheels?!?!?!?
17 or 18 inch wheels?!?!?!?
Im looking to buy either 17 or 18 inch giovanna corsicas. Ya ya I know everyone has them by now, but they are pimp wheels. The 17inchers are about $1000 with tires and the cheapest I found the 18s for was about $1350. Has anyone seen em cheeper, if not I gotta go with the 17 cause of low $$.
I got my 18's when they first came out... I had them on my acura vigor for about 6 months before I put them on this car when I bought them it in september of 99. I purchased them through my buddies resale permit and picked them up directly at the warehouse for 1300.00 for the tires my buddy just sends me directly to the tire warehouse and lets me choose what I want. Right now I have pirellis, or however you spell it. If you want too see more pictures Ill post them.
damn i got the 18's too
they are awesome though
i like them because they are not too flashy and they kinda look like they came on the car.
plus i got a good deal on them
damn why cant i get the pics to work?

I would definitely go with the 18's. But just keep in mind, that the larger the rim diameter, the smaller the sidewall. This in turn results in better handling, but the ride gets noticable more jarring. One of the guys i work with has an '02 Maxima with 20's and the ride is horrible. Remember guys, we have a luxury car, and not a rice burner!!!
Hey, I paid 1435 shipped with tires for my 18x7.5 Giovanna Corsicas. I had to look around for that deal too. The local store wanted to charge me 1800!
but def. get 18s. b.c the 17s look small as hell, our cars were made for 18s

save your money, rims are the most noticed exterior mod, don't go around buying cheap 17's or 18's just so you can say you got em'. Wait a while and get some quality wheels...you won't regret it...

Ill ask my buddy tomorrow and see if he can pick one up. Were close by the warehouse its in LA. But did they stop making the rim altogether.. or just chrome. cause if they just stopped making the chromes, find a silver one and go get it chromed. So funny ive been contemplating about upgrading to 19's but too much darn money for them right now. need a nice system on my ride instead..
I gotta say, I am sorry I bought 18's. Maybe the chromies are better cause they're not aluminum, but mine have been nothing but a hassle. The roads in toronto are not condusive to light alloy rims with low pro tires! ALL of my rims are now minorly bent, one I am picking up tonight from a rim repair shop for a crack in the wheel that I had to get fixed, at a cost of $150!! I LOVE the way they look, but it's just not proctical in Toronto. ROads are too rough.
I may just end up going 17's next time, unless I find some nice deep dish chromes then I'll stay 18.

I went with the 2003 CL Type S wheels in chrome, I got an acura dealership that will sell them for $650 shipping and tax included, or $400 for the alloys shipping and tax included. Brand new wheels
Did you ever ask your buddy if he could get a 18 inch giovanna corsica rim? ill pay extra for finding me a rim so if any of you guys no some info where do get them please give me a call at 520 400 6523 justin thanks for the help i really appriciate it
I would say for looks go with the 18's, but if you live in Toronto, buy 17's!!! I have 18's on my car now, and maybe it's because they are lightweight aluminum, but they have been nothing but trouble! All of them have flat spots on the lips, one of them I just got back from being welded cause it had a crazk. They roads up here are S$#@ and I've regretted them since I got them (Except of course when the car is all clean and I look and go DAMN I'm so glad I bought those!) Yeah, what the heck am I sayin...GET THE 18's!!!
I don't know the specific numbers for our cars.
But offset is how deep the wheel sits on the axle. Negative offset would sink the wheel in farther into the wheel well. Positive offset would cause the wheel to stick out more.
Offset has to do with the width of the rim and if the fronts will rub when turning.
Maybe it's the other way around (positive and negative I mean). It has been a while since I bought rims for anything.

im thinking of getting these rims later (4th one from the top). it fits 2.5 and looks clean to me.
