When to replace timing belt
When to replace timing belt
I've been advised to replace the timing belt on my 1999 Acura RL, with only 42000 miles on the odometer. The manual says replace it at 105K miles or after 84 months, whichever comes first. Can I wait and put some more miles on the car, or is the 84 month criteria just as important as mileage?
Thanks for your thoughts.

Rubber deteriorates over time and may not be visually evident. The penalty for belt failure is extremely expensive. You have to decide if you want to risk being stranded and paying for the engine damage if it fails....
I'd replace it.
I'd replace it.
