Telescopic steering doesnt go way down
I was in 2002 Rl today playing around ..I noticed the telescopic power steering goes all the way down...just the way I like it..but mine it only drops couple inches down ...
I just hate that cuz I am short I just cant see the miles and I have to raise my seat all the way up... is it possible to replace the power telescopic? or adjust it.?
thank you

Let me save you a lot of time and energy and frustration as I dealt with this 2 years ago. My steering column got stuck down; would move in and out, but not up and down. At 6'6" tall, it was a fix or sell situation for me.
The mechanism is integrated into the steering column, and cannot be separated. Acura wants $2800 for the new column. In an amazing stroke of luck I found someone nearby with the column from a totaled 2002 RL. He sold it to me for $150 cash. My independent mechanic did not want to mess with the job (he hates interior work), so the amazingly flexible service department at Acura (of Bellevue, WA) agreed to put it in for me. Their book quotes the job at 3 hours, so that is what they charged me, but I was informed it took them a lot longer. Labor was around $350.
Good luck, but don't waste too much time trying to find a cheap fix.
