RL fogs with PIAAs (pic)

Used PIAA Xtreme Force H1 bulbs. Have used this model on multiple cars and found them to be very close to Honda/Acura HID color. For some reason these are not sold in the US and I have always bought them from Japan via Ebay. This is my fifth car with PIAA Xtreme Force bulbs and they have never blown out or disappointed me. The yellow color of the fogs bothered me (call it personal preference) and these are also brighter than the OEM ones and look seamless from the driver's seat (uniform color on the road). Hope you like it. Picture quality was not good as it was taken on a IPhone.

Looks good.

I've always been a fan of Lexus's yellow fog lights.

Those look to be the headlights not the foglights.

I like the brighter look.

Remember to wear gloves when touching any of the bulb glass surfaces. A small amount of oil from your skin could be enough to blow a bulb down the line. I have used PIAA bulbs in my last 5-6 cars and they have never blown on me once during my ownership (sometimes 3 years). Quality of the bulb is also very important.

Cannot see what year car you have, but are you referring to the low beams/hi beams on non-HID RLs?

Did you make sure that the light bulb that you purchased is 55 watts? You might have purchased an 80 watt bulb which will only work on one side. The PIAAs posted here are OEM 55 watts and is a direct bolt-on.

Yup it was the right wattage I think the person I had install them touched the bulbs with his bare hands. At first they both were working and a few months later only one worked. Next time I will install them myself.

Always install with gloves on. Oil from the body can cause the bulbs to blow out earlier. I have done bulb replacement in 4-5 of my cars so far and not one has ever blown on me.

Yeah I know that the question is why the tech that installed the bulbs for me didn't know that. Next time I will do it myself.

Your technician is or was prone to shortcutting. That can prove to be a pain in the longrun.

I'm a huge fan of PIAA bulbs. I can get them at a RICER shop here in Northern California (Concord ca). Not sure about that specific model number. I usually change ALL bulbs when I buy a new acura (interior, lic plate, reverse, high beam) but haven't gotten these for fog's....I'll look into that....Looks like OEM (good match). Also I seldom drive the RL at night....LOL
