'03 and '04 have the revised taillights.

'03/'04 models also have the fancier wood, new gray interior scheme with the grey(ish) wood.

From the sticky Technical Info thread

2003 Changes to the Acura 3.5 RL

For 2003, the Acura 3.5 RL luxury sedan receives a number of subtle refinements that highlight and enhance the car's already unparalleled level of craftsmanship, making Acura's flagship even more luxurious and sophisticated.

"The enhancements we've made to this year's RL are subtle, yet important," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president, auto sales. "Last year, we boosted performance by increasing horsepower and retuning the suspension, while this year we're making the RL even more refined, which is crucial to our high-end customers."

The handsome exterior of the RL, with a long, sloping front hood and short rear deck, reflects Acura's attention to detail and craftsmanship. For 2003, the RL is available in three new colors - Carbon Gray Pearl, Polar Blue Metallic, and Champagne Mist Pearl, and features redesigned, alloy wheels and a new taillight design with a clear turn signal lens.

Inside, the RL's elegant cabin environment boasts abundant interior room and hand-selected leather-trimmed 8-way adjustable front seats. Both the instrument panel and the standard Acura Navigation System are trimmed in premium burled camphor wood. For 2003, the RL receives a new interior color, Slate, and three new wood trim colors: Auburn Camphor, Golden Camphor and Black Camphor.

All above enhancements were good except for the wheels. Should have left the 02 wheels

the guy got most of the dings out. There is one that they got most of it out, but the position of it makes it hard to get from the back. The pinstripe is painted on, meh

A lot of dealerships use paint stripes instead of the sticker ones you used to see...

Guess it's time to get some red 22's to match.

Unless you can get someone that does painted pinstripes to go over the ones you have in a diff color maybe?

I saw someone do painted pinstripes on y wifes Accord once after it was painted. they laid out this agnet track and the paint brushes rode the track.

this is my 2000 that i had

gold or silver really doesn't look as perfect as darker colors. This is after using the porter cable and after all dings have been removed.

yesterday i replaced the front pads and rotors. They were shimmying more than when i test drove it and didn't really notice it. The pads are about 70% but looking at the PO records, they had the fronts cut down a few times and would not have been in spec if done once more.

I purchased both front duralast rotors and advanced auto gold pads for $110 shipped.
The pads are lifetime as long as i don't have a bad caliper, and the rotors are two year limited warranty.

I really haven't ever had any issues with advance auto pads or rotors and we'll see how these perform.

I have the old pads if anyone wants em. They are at about 65-70% thick.

The old owner replaced the brakes 8K before I bought the car, along with some other things. It was like a $1700 bill at the Acura dealer.

the previous owner of mine did the tbelt, all belts, water pump, and cooling flush right at 90k. Then for some reason traded it in like 2k later. I found out before I bougt mine though and it swayed me towards that purchase as the dealer had all records.

Yup - my service records definitely sold the car for the guy. Between 90 and 120K miles, there was about 3-3.5K worth of work. New relay, timing belt, water pump, brakes, etc.

The guy said "I did everything the Acura adviser told me to"

I said "How do you want your payment, check or cash?"
