purchased 03 with 66,000 miles

i sold my aging es300 last week and searched many cars. The one i kept coming back to. 4.5 years ago i was unemployed and money was tight. I traded in my 00 gold rl for the es. I was able to use 87 gas, the mileage was better and the insurance was also cheaper.
At 100k i had to dump a lot of money into it but at the time trading was the best option.

I test drove an 03 with all features except nav. It was something that i didn't need but cool to have. It's a one owner with all service records. The interior and exterior is extremely clean.

I am scheduled to pick it up next saturday

I'll post pics the soonest i can.

I know these things are pretty darn reliable and that is another reason i'm buying this one.
Oh yeah purchase price is 10,500

you know, i am having a hard time pinning down the color. It is almost like a heather mist, it's not silver or gold, it's like a combo of the two. I know it's not gold b/c i had one of those. It's mesmerizing.

Once i have the car in my possession, i'll check the paint code.

god , i forgot how much i loved this car. I will post pics this week. When i test drove it, it was raining out so it hid some dings. Nothing paintless dent removal can't take care of.

going, it looks like hell.

I am going to see a guy about getting a few dings taken care of.

thanks all, this car kicks ass. It is very similar to the 2000 rl i had. I think i enjoy this car more than my boxster, but then i try to take the corners as fast and i am reminded why this is a luxury car not a sports car.

if you add a kN filter or different color bulbs let us know. Cause those are mods. Lol

I like the clean look of stock, and even though the RL ir rare enough on the road I personally couldn't run stock.

looks very nice. I like the color. My 2 current Accords and one of my old ones are a similar color.

took off all 4 rims and all is well. the tires are new goodyear eagle gt. The rear brakes are about 70% and the fronts are 80%. There is a slight shimmy when braking, i'm going to have the rotor cut down to get rid of that.

I cleaned the wheelwells and shook whatever i could and all looks well.

In a while, i'll take the porter cable to it and buff out any surface scratches.

Dallison, a cold air intake meant for a Legend with TCS will be a nice mod, the engine is VERY restricted with the stock airbox.

It'll be very quiet unless you step on the gas too, so there isn't really a downside other than a small hole in your wallet. Oh and it sounds very nice

I ended up keeping my stock airbox, but I took out the resonator... Ken you have removed your resonator as well right?

When the weather is colder after summer, I'll probably put my Apexi intake back in, it makes the engine sound very nice.

Sorry to hijack your thread again Rich!

Ken, what I ended up doing is removing the lower box, keeping all of the other piping intact still to feed air into my intake.... did you remove that snorkel-like resonator also? I couldn't figure out if I needed to take that one out too.

Use a hair dryer and a plastic razor blade, comes right off. As long as it's not one of the painted ones like "sid did it"..

Do the entire car, definitely worth it.

A couple weeks ago I clayed, buffed and waxed my car. It did wonders. It's amazing how much crap is on your paint that you don't even see. With your color, it's not as difficult; it hides scratches/dirt well.

Black is a PITA.

i am leaning towards having the entire car done. there are some surface scratches that i can buff out and i need to get a couple new pads to get under the door handles also.

I didn't know they made plastic razor blades....

Good job taking care of those wells. Might want to get some extra undercoating under there. I know the salt up there in PA is a pain.

Definately do the whole car if you can. Time consuming and tedious, but its worth it. orrrr you can always pay someone else to do it.

Yep, lower box removed too. Front bumper removal is very annoying but apparently it was worse with the Legends. 1st gen TL folks should find it quite familiar.

I did that for a while, stock airbox with lower portion and resonator removed. Then my wife complained about the TL's CAI, so I swapped them

Dennis I currently have my stock intake box in. When I get my HID fogs i'll snap some pictures. I think there were only two bolts to take out to get the lower box out.... I then ziptied the pipe that connects to the lower box in place. With the lower box removed the engine has a very nice growl under heavy acceleration. I like it a lot!
