Problem areas for a 2002

I have a family friend who is tring to sell a 2002 RL with 115k on the clock. Not sure of the price yet or options it may have but are there certain things I should look at?

Make sure the timing belt was changed and water pump/thermostat or know if it was or not as it due at 105k and its about 1000.00 to 1600.00 it must be done or have been done....

Its about 1k if you go to a dealer...I bought the whole timing belt kit with water pump for 150 dollars on rockauto made by Dayco and labor was 500 from my mechanic who is sponsored by goodyear.
