New Radio and more..

So.. I chose a Kenwood X994 for my car.

First of all, in-dash CD player. Sounds silly but you non 2004 RL owners understand my pain

Second, it'll play USB devices.

But third.. bluetooth and its all built in

Lets take a look through my crappy cell phone pictures from this evening...

Next step of course is a custom trim piece.. Time to get acquainted with some abs plastics..

Looking good! How's the sound quality over the factory unit?

Its almost flush, maybe 1/4 inch 'sunken', it looks far worse in pictures than it really is.

Sound quality is EXCELLENT. Stock was already quite good but this unit will let you customize the size of the cabin, reverb, echo etc..

The phone call quality is very good too, i hear people clearly and people say they can hear me with very little background noise and no echo.

No its not built into the unit itself, instead the mic can be positioned anywhere you'd like since the cord is around three feet long. I have it placed just above the steering column with the wiring tucked away.

I thought about using the wiring for the rear view mirror but decided to be lazy

Oh and the voice quality is excellent, I recorded some messages of myself driving at different speeds/roads to be sure.
