My biggest issue is that my dealer charges 25% more for there parts than any other dealer in canada. Most of my friends are techs at the honda dealer here, thay can program the key for me but i can't get a key under $120

Can these places be trusted?, saw one group on e-bay, they looked professional, 100% feedback but wanted big money for shipping

how much can they possibly charge for shipping? Its a key and would probably only cost a dollar or two. I think there is a policy on ebay that prevents the seller from charging an arm and a leg for shipping. When i buy things i always check the price on the box for what they paid.

When an Acura RL is sold new they "usually" come with a key number plate, one or two black master keys, one gray valet key and a red learning key in a sealed plastic package. If you need to have a master or valet key made you take the red learning key to the dealer and they use the red learning key along with a Honda PGM tester and immobilizer code card to code the new key blank to work with your cars existing immobilizer system. I can imagine most of the keys for a 12 y/o car are long gone but I don't see how you can buy a coded key off of ebay for your RL that will work. But i could be wrong.

you can find some on ebay...OEM and non OEM's but I couldn't tell ya to buy or not to buy....I know I've looked at them since I only have one key on ebay and came this close to buying one but held off. Let me know what you do with this, I'd be interested.

you can always buy from different dealerships online if you think your place charges too much.

ebay is always an option but if you cant find them there. you can check out acura.com and then go to the online store link located at the bottom.

after you have your key, you can bring it to your dealership to get it programmed for a small fee. usually its priced accordingly to hourly service rates.
