How do you install a sub and sub amp in a 97 RL w/ a Bose system?

I'm getting a good deal on two older eclipse models, and I'd be very interested to throw em in my girl's 1997 RL. I've done plenty installs, just never on luxury cars, so I don't want to mess up her car.

I want to run the stock headunit, but I've never messed with luxury because of the way OEM systems are installed. Some have speakers with their own amp, some have a single amp for all the speakers, and so on.

What exactly do I have to do to run a sub and a sub amp? Thanks!

not too hard.

I've done it on my 1st gen CL, and the bose systems are similiar. Just buy the harness and mounting kit (if you need the mounting kit).

If you have, or if someone else here has, a wiring diagram for the 1st gen RL, just look up the amp trigger wire, and splice that into the amp remote wire off the deck. That will trigger amp for the stock speakers so it will turn on, and the speakers will work. Then run your new amp rca line like normal.

Or you can just run new wire and replace all the speakers, your choice.

Good luck
