So I got a oil change and tire rotation and they give me a laundry list of problems (radiator leak, cracking PS belt, some others I can't recall)

but as I'm driving it now the ride is waayy bouncy and I can't go over speed bumps without bottoming out. think the shocks are bad? I may go back to them before work and ask if they can look at it, I'm sure a tire rotation wouldn't screw anything up right?

also, I've read that the 02-04 suspension is better than the older years, (I have a 98) so if I do need new shocks should I replace them with the newer year RL shocks?

thanks

Well first off, if the car is bouncing, there is no doubt that the shocks/struts are blown. When you hit a bump does the car shake for a long period of time? If so, then yes, your shocks are blown. As far as switching the shocks froma newer year, I am not sure if its a direct swap. Your better off going with OEM replacements such as Konis or Tokicos.

thanks for the quick reply, kind of hard to describe the bounce, but I'm pretty sure after hitting a small wave in the road going fairly slow, I go up and down quite a few times

yeah its the struts so should I just get OEMs made for my year or are the 04s better or some aftermarket? I'm just doing the fronts for now too and keeping the stock springs

I got new tires and my car became very bouncy. i heard olderr struts when the wheels are raised get bouncy. But about 2 mos latter they settled down and now are normal. Did not replace a thing. I think they need to bend back in place.

To be honest, I would rather stick with shocks made for your car. You don't have to go with OEM because it will usually be more expensive and you can get far beter ride quality from aftermarket. I suggest either Tokico or Koni. You can also get them from vendors on Azine for a good price too. Check Excelerate or Heeltoe.

I've been searching for struts from Koni and Tokico, and pretty much all the brands but can't seem to find any for the RL. OEM is $150 a piece so anything good and cheaper would be great
