"A" Emblem added to airbag

because of OLD_Hatch, i had to follow. but instead of using the A emblem from a center cap, i bought one off ebay specially for the airbag and glued it to my airbag. i had to trim off some pieces in the back to make it flush. let me know what you all think....
oh, here's the ebay link in case anyone is interested:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-10...s=Make%3AAcura

Trimmed...

On the airbag...sorry for the dark blurry pics; after i got done, it was dark...

i tried 3 different types of glue but none of them would stick....rubber cement glue, super glue, and some "seal-all" glue. being lazy to go to the auto store, i just pulled out some jb weld quik and that worked perfectly.
next time i should try this glue instead:

Looks good man. I forgot which glue I used since it was hard to glue. I either used the 3M emblem glue you linked or permatex pit crews choice.

No lie I bought 5 different glues and only one worked. Im leaning towards the 3m though.

Get some good day pics it looks like it fits pretty well.

On a side note, what you got going on with the silver dash?

yeah, somehow the material on the airbag makes it hard for any glue to stick on. upon closer inspection, since it was kinda dark when i finished, i think the emblem is a bit off to the left. i'll post some daytime pics.

the silver dash was spray painted by the previous owner. i didn't quite like it at first but it's growing on me. i guess it matches the rest of the car, esp. the silver vinyl/leather door inserts.

maybe some sanding with some 500 grit might help?

that might be an idea....since the added emblem is kinda sticking out and not totally flush with the airbag.

no pictures on me. It's the center section that goes around the nav screen/radio/hvac.

here are some daytime pics.....it's pretty center but the angle of the pics taken and the lighting makes it seem like the emblem is a little bit to the right. pics taken with my iphone..thus the poor quality.

man that looks great, good job! I really wanted to do the same with my RL, just a question, would this cause any harm if the airbag is deployed?

if the airbag deploys, be prepared to get a big fat "A" on your forehead!

ok...just kidding! the airbag deploys thru the horizontal line below the "A" and on top of SRS Airbag. the emblem doesn't impede or obstruct deployment at all!

quick question.. were your dash lights initially white stock, or did you replace them yourself? i have a 98 RL so they came in a very ugly yellow.. just wondering

I'm assuming no one has done it on their 3rd gen TL,

Silver3.5 what did u use to remove the old emblem, I'm guessing the chrome was faded or peeling?
