Driving 1999 RL without cluster

I just bought a 1999 Acura RL which is in decent condition. The issue is that the odometer does not work but everything else does such as speedometer, rpms, etc. I really like the car and want to continue to take care of it mechanically and aesthetically. I understand for the odometer is not just a bulb but rather a board. Has anyone tried Mechanic Modules website? I was emailing with mechanic modules and they seem to have experience replacing the board and bulbs. I purchased the service and am going to take the cluster out and ship it to them.

Does anyone know if the car drives fine without the cluster? I could not find much online for this specific car. I will have an update myself next week but wanted to see if anyone knew prior to that. Thanks.

hahaha true, was just checking. I read some other vehicles (not acuras) that would not do certain things such as accelerate properly or charge the battery with the cluster removed. I just wanted to see if anyone heard of anything like this for the RL 99.

Just thought I would drop an update in case anyone every needs the same information. The cluster was removed and shipped to be repaired. The car runs fine and signals fine without a cluster in case anyone needed to know. I will update to see if the odometer repair is successful

cluster is just for info but you'd better keep the gas tank full ,also if the eng overheats or you have an oil press prob it will seize cause no gage
I wont drive it w/o the cluster but its also likely that nothing will malfunction

Yes the car drives fine without the cluster. I used Atlanta Speedometer, they did a great job.

I have been running my 98 RL without the odometer for four years now without any issue. Though if you want to go in and explore the cluster, I found that Car Apprentice on Youtube has a pretty good video:
That being said his repair really depends on how easily you can locate the issue with your cluster. I've been putting mine off because I'm scared of what else might be wrong lol.
