CD player problems

Okay... so this recently started. I start up the car and every morning / afternoon / evening the 6 disc player clicks at me and tells me there is an "error" on the radio and it clicks for several seconds and i can't get anything to eject and i can't get the CD player "door" to open to eject any disc or anything...

Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you end up fixing it?

Maybe it's time for a new CD player and fabrication a full face plate.

I don't even care about the CDs, i just want the damn clicking to stop. LOL

One problem though... the 2004 at least has all the CDs within the stereo / navigation. Not in the trunk or anything.

can't remove the CD sleeve or anything...

A buddy of mine had this exact same problem in his 04. We took it apart and found out the the "transport system" for the cd's was not operating correctly. Specifically, there were 2 wheel gears that had grooves that were supposed to meet. These gears were not meeting, and one wheel was slipping and not catching (causing a clicking sound), causing the other one not to turn at all. He installed a little rubber bumper above the gear wheel that was slipping to keep it pushed down so it would catch, and all was well.

First no correct shift-knob and now a malfunctioning CD changer?

I told you you need to return the car and get a refund!
