new RL

new RL

I just bought a 2001 RL.was told it had a slight ticking noise at idle seams to go away 1200 rpm. Can anyone tell me what might be wrong? Someone told me it might be cam belt tensioner. any ideas.

Earlier,I was asking if anyone had any idea what could be making noise,that seemed to go away.Anyway I found that the flywheel was cracked. Does anyone know if this is usual or unusual? By the way It a 2001 RL 3.5 w/78K.

That doesn't sound like a normal thing at all. I've gone through 2 3.5RLs and never heard of this and been on these forums for a while.

How did you find out it was the flywheel?

....with a cracked flywheel i imagine you would have had driving issues/gear change issues. were any symptoms like that present or just ticking??
and as 99blackhatch asked how did you confirm it was in fact the flywheel?
