Do anyone know what it means when the d4 blinks 8 times. I change out the input an output sensors, and the shift solenoid. Car takes off slow in D4. but takes of normal if you drive it manually. Is others any thing else to check before I put a for sale sign on it. Its a 97 RL.

 

Unplug the battery and plug it back in. As I was driving my 97 RL hard one day the d4 light started blinking. One reset and that did the job.

 

welp, time to bring back up this thread...

so today my RL started acting up. i went over a bump and as soon as my front wheels went over it the d4 light started flashing, my check engine went away, the yellow warning light came on as well as the tsa light.
Car takes off really slow on d4 unless i take off on 1, and even then it feels sluggish. it wont shift down if i floor it either and my turn signals dont work either!

idk whats going on
maybe the transmission solenoids are bad?
