Advice Needed - Purchase

Found a 2001 RL with 60K miles on it. Carfax checks out too. Dealer maintained.Test drove it. Drove awesome. Body is in good/decent condition. Rear bumper could use some work. Lots of scratches from city parking. Very reasonable price.

Is there anything I should look out for? Any concerns I should have? Wary of buying a 11 year old car.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Make sure all of the windows work. Has the timing belt been changed? If not that will be another $1000 or so to have done. I have bought two of these in the last 15 months (99 and 01) and they are pretty decent cars. 01 should be a solid car. Good luck.

Phin covered it all. Timing belt and windows are the only things to look for.

I'd recommend a differential fluid flush too, most people don't realize that while the car is front-wheel drive, it still has a differential

Thanks to all for the advice. Picked up the car a week ago and so far, so good. Passenger power seat bottom doesn't work but, for now gonna leave it. In a decent position as/is. Didn't realize it till I had already drove off the lot.

Everything else works well. Bumpre knicks and scratches are driving me nuts, but I will attempt to clear them up myself.

Thanks again.

Here's a Legend motor, same layout, just a 3.2 instead of a 3.5

The transmission you'll see goes towards the rear. It is between the driver's and passenger's feet. The transmission then sends power forward to the differential which is towards the front of the engine.

Ok, that sounds confusing. I'll ask them to check the next time when I go in for transmission and brake fluid.

Is the fascia loose around the controls? I have a drivers seat that you need to push the buttons in and then they will work. The plastic fascia sticks out and the buttons do not make contact unless you press in on them. Hope that makes sense.

It's definitely the right side track. The motor on the left track moves but the motor on the right side of the seat doesn't budge. Like I said, it's in a fairly good position so weill just leave it for now.
