98 RL CD Changer

I've got a 98 3.5RL and the CD Changer has failed. Up front I get a T-00 fail code that the dealer says indicates a bad changer. The disks cycle in and out of the box but don't show tracks or play. How do I remove the old changer? I can't see any way to access the unit from the trunk. Do you release the entire unit by bolts under the car?
Thanks for any help.

the plastic cover can be pried off, after that, a socket wrench can finish the job. That's how it is with my '02

I guess I don't see how the unit is accessed in it's housing. It has a plastic trim piece around the top and the rest is covered in trunk liner. The top trim piece is firmly fixed to the housing. How do I remove the housing to get at the CD Changer?

If you could post some pics, it would be helpful for others.

Sorry, I don't have a digi cam...the housing is held down by poppers. Just pry it off...if you feel around the housing, it doesn't actually wrap all the way back. There ae 4 metal poppers, 3 in front and one of the left side (towards the back of the trunk). If you REALLY need help after this I'll see what I can do about a camera, but try pulling on it first

Guys, I feel dumb as a post. I used a screwdriver to pry gently under the housing and BINGO, off it came. Thanks for all the help and sugestions. Now, does anyone know where to get a replacement changer that works with Nav?

Are they different from non-nav ones? I have a non-nav from my 02 somewhere, but I' not sure it's identical
